Improving passenger services quality in Vladivostok airport

The terminal reconstruction project is handed in two stages so that not to interfere continuous departing and arriving passengers service. The first stage implies reconstruction of the second level, area enlargement and baggage delivery area reconstruction on the first floor. The second stage will include reconstruction of the first level and basement.

The second level of domestic terminal previously used as a departure lounge is closed for reconstruction, which poses certain inconveniences to passengers and generally worsen service. The airline understands the situation and has published information about the reconstruction aiming, first of all, at passenger service improvement, in press, explaining Primorye people the reasons for the temporal inconveniences and prospects.

Vladivostok Air realizes the importance of the modifications and since the design concept development stage has taken into consideration modern construction technologies, internal facilities and improvement of the terminal comfort and attractiveness as the air gates and landmark of Primorsky krai.

The first reconstruction stage is to be completed in June 2006. The 2nd level of the terminal will incorporate:

• holding area for 200 persons;
• cafe for 45 persons;
• room for mothers with children including reception, game room, bedroom, kitchen and toilet;
• drugstore;
• mini-market;
• cellular communications store;
• sterile are for passengers who have passed through registration and customs, with the area of 1,500 sq. m and 300 comfortable soft chairs made by famous Italian manufacturer I4Mariani. The sterile area combines a bar, press counter, 2 toilets and a smoking room;
• first and business class holding area for 45 persons equipped with a bar, computer with access to Internet and fax, scanner, printer and copier services offered.

Baggage delivery area on the first floor of the terminal is equipped with a modern conveyor system made by a well-know English company Logan and will be commissioned in April 2006.

The second reconstruction stage, which is supposed to be completed in November 2006, implies reconstruction of registration area where 8 registration desks will be installed instead of 5 presently available. Modern baggage handling line of Logan brand will be installed in the area.

The first floor will also accommodate:

• non-mobile passengers service room;
• medical post;
• booking offices.

Wide-screen plasma and LC panels will be installed all over the terminal for flight schedules delivery, current information services and satellite TV programs broadcasting.

Upon the reconstruction domestic passenger terminal of Vladivostok airport its handling capacity will double. General contractor of the terminal reconstruction project is KFK Repairs and Construction Company.
