On the eve of Russia`s national Victory holiday, Vladivostok Air held its annual commemoration event for the veterans of World War II.
On May 6th, 2006, the assembly hall of Vladivostok Avia was filled with some of the more distinguished employees of our company: veterans and rear-guard of World War II. Today, the company has 63 of these employees, and in honor of their service, they were rewarded with a compensation award of 5000 rubles and special holiday lunch banquet.
The now traditional event began with a concert performed by one of Russia`s nationally awarded singers, Anatoly Kalekina, and was followed by a dance number by local children. The concert was enjoyed by many, and the performers obviously succeeded in reaching out to their audience, witnessed by many a furtive gesture to wipe away tears of joy with pocket handkerchiefs.
On the evening prior, a delegation consisting of Nikolai Izmailov (Vladivostok Air`s Veteran`s Board Chairman), Alexander Alexeyev (Assistant to Primorski Krai Duma Deputy Vladimir Saibel), and Nina Sorokolad (Chairwoman of the Public Education Workers Union) visited twenty one veterans from the sphere of public education. The distinguished veterans and educators were greeted with warm words of holiday congratulations and fruitbasked gifts.
Vladivostok Air is firmly committed to its social obligations and will work tirelessly to assist its working and retired veterans and rear guard from World War II. To this regard, the company provides financial assistance, medical and rest facilities, and help in renovations of living quarters.
