On December 1st, 2006, Vladivostok Air launched a direct regular flight connecting the city of Vladivostok, the capital of Primorsky region, and the city of Bangkok, the capital of the Kingdom of Thailand. The flight is served by the Tu-204-300 aircraft.
Alongside with regular passengers, an official delegation also took the first flight to Bangkok. Members of the delegation were: Mr. Lev Panchenko, Head of the Department of transport of Primorye regional administration, Mr. Sergey Pysin, Chairman of the Committee of Tourism of Primorye regional administration, Mr. Viktor Kryuchkov, Vladivostok Air Deputy Director and Head of Flight service, Mr. Alexander Belykh, Vladivostok Air Deputy Director for HR, a Russian folklore ensemble led by Viktor Korkishko, an Honoured artist of the Russian Federation, and a group of journalists representing the Rossiya TV channel.
Vladivostok Air presented a special gift to Ms. Natalya Dolgopolova, the first passenger who registered for the flight. All other passengers of the first flight were presented with specially printed greeting cards, either in Russian or in English. A comfortable flight onboard a new Tu-204-300 aircraft made the passengers enjoy a truly festive atmosphere thanks to an increased level of comfort, attentive stewards, a wide assortment of exotic cuisine and a well-chosen carte de vins. With the launch of this flight, Vladivostok Air started providing a totally new service from now on the passengers will be able to buy duty-free goods onboard during the flight. It is planned to make this onboard duty-free service available on other international routes as well.
At the airport of transfer Seoul the Russian delegation was greeted by the official representatives of the Immigration and Customs Service and the airport authorities. Mr. Gleb Ivashentsov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Korea, Mr. Alexander Tumanenko, Vladivostok Air Representative General in the Republic of Korea, representatives of South-Korean tourist and air companies also attended the ceremonial welcome.
Here, in the Inchhon hall of Seoul airport, a press conference dedicated to the launch of the new flight was held. The participants exchanged opinions about how promising and important this new route was and how it would support relations between Russia and South Korea, and also answered questions from Russian and Korean journalists.
At the Suvanapum airport newly built in Bangkok girls dressed in Thai national costumes greeted the passengers of the first flight with flowers. A performance of the Russian folklore ensemble gave a special color to the welcome meeting. The Russian people were met by Mr. Pir Samasatien, Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Tourism and Sport, Ms. Lyudmila Vorobyeva, Advisor and Envoy of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in the Kingdom of Thailand, Mr. Vladimir Pronin, the Consul of the Russian Federation, representatives of Thailand?s tourism and air service authorities, employees of the Embassy of Russia in Thailand and Vladivostok Air representative office in Bangkok. A press conference and a banquet to celebrate the launch of the new flight also took place in the airport. A delegation including representatives of Thailand?s tourist companies and journalists took the return flight to Vladivostok, with the aim to get acquainted with tourism resources of Primorye and find business contacts in the region.
Regular flight XF 737/738 (Vladivostok Seoul Bangkok Seoul Vladivostok) is carried out each Wednesday and Friday, Thursday added for the period from December 21, 2006 till January 26, 2007. In the future, the company plans to increase the number of flight up to four flights a week.

The new service to Bangkok is a harmonious addition to the wide-spread international and domestic route network operated by Vladivostok Avia, the largest air carrier in the Russian Far East.
The Land of Smiles Thailand is sure to charm any of tourists. The Temple of the Dawn and the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, crocodile farms and elephant theatre, small tropic islands and miles of idyllic beaches, Thai boxing rings and a huge number of entertainment halls are waiting for visitors.
