“Vladivostok Air” continues its dynamic growth. In accordance with the 2006’s summary of results, despite the uneasy situation on the Russian aviation market, company has managed to increase all the main economic and production indices in comparison with the year 2005.
The number of the passengers carried by the company’s own fleet has increased by 8.8% during the reporting period, at the same time the passenger turnover has increased by 13.2%. The number of passengers flying from Vladivostok airport has increased by 4%. Cargo turnover has increased by 10.4%. Operating passenger turnover has increased by 13.2% and totaled 2 milliard 98 millions passenger kilometers. According to preliminary data, production income has increased by 22% in 2006, while the clear profit was twice as much as of the year 2005.
In 2006 the company has launched nine new routes: Vladivostok — Beijing, Vladivostok — Kitakyushyu, Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk — Dalian, Ekaterinburg — Tianjin, Moscow — Istanbul, Moscow — Sochi, Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky — Osaka, Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk – Manila, Vladivostok – Seoul – Bangkok.
In December 2006 the reconstruction of the domestic flights terminal was completed.
“Vladivostok Air” specialists are preparing to elaborate proposals for further modernization of infrastructure including the runway, the runway lighting, and the international flights terminal in order to meet the highest standards should the APEC summit be held in Vladivostok in 2012.
Another top-priority goal of the company is fleet modernization. For now, “Vladivostok Air” is the world’s and Russia’s only operator of TU–204–300, the Russian medium and long distance vessels, owing four vessels. The company’s TU–204–300s have successfully overcome the summer seasonal load on the following top-priority direct regular routes: Vladivostok — Moscow, Vladivostok — Seoul, Vladivostok — Ekaterinburg, Vladivostok — Saint Petersburg, Moscow — Irkutsk. Passengers and the staff have been giving positive comments to the new comfortable air liners.
The next, and a most logical, stage of the fleet modernization is the purchase of A-320 airplanes on the basis of leasing. The first vessel should arrive in the nearest future. It’s planned that these vessels will gradually substitute for TU–154s that are less economical than the new ones. The new liners of “Vladivostok Air” are planned to serve the perspective foreign routes: Vladivostok — Seoul — Bangkok, Vladivostok — Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky — Anchorage — Seattle.
