Vladivostok Air has launched an electronic interline project under the terms of the interline agreement with Sibir Airlines. The essence of the interline agreement is the mutual acceptance of transportation documents. In most cases, such agreements are supplemented with special tariffs terms. By now Vladivostok Air has signed over 40 interline agreements with Russian and foreign airlines.
Passengers benefit from the interline policy through getting a single ticket for a flight. Another advantage is attractive prices.
And yet there is new benefit an electronic interline. After the carriers have signed such an agreement, their passengers become able to buy e-tickets for connecting flights of these carriers. According to the new e-ticket technology, the passenger information will be entered into the electronic database both of Vladivostok Air and the foreign partner. To take a flight at any airport (including the airport of transfer) it is now enough to show one's passport and itinerary receipt. A great advantage of an e-ticket is that one cannot forget or lose it.
Today the electronic interline agreement with Sibir Airlines is the fifth e-ticket agreement concluded by Vladivostok Air, the previous agreements having been concluded with Continental Airlines Inc., Korean Air Lines Co.Ltd., Thai Airways Intl. Public Company Limited., and Asiana Airlines, Inc.
