Vladivostok Air, the largest company in Primorsky region, was recognized the "Company of the Year 2006" by the vote of independent experts.
The solemn ceremony was held to recognize the winners of the 3rd Regional Award "Primorsky Region Company of the Year and Manager of the Year 2006", "Social Responsibility in Business 2006" and the winners of the regional competition "Businessman of the Year". The organizers — Primorsky region administration jointly with "Zolotoy Rog" publishing company — stated that the big business competition is held in Primorye only. All open companies in the region become its participants for the third year in a row. Companies are shortlisted for the semi-final on the basis of economic indicators of business efficiency growth. Then the expert board consisting of 50 established professionals comes in. The fact that Primorye citizens cast their votes openly for the best company and the best top manager gives the Award the special public significance.
This year Vladivostok Air's contestants were such big companies as "Vladkhleb", "Mikhailovsky Broiler" and "Terneyles". What makes the victory all the more enjoyable is that the air company initially confirmed its participation only in the "Social Responsibility in Business 2006" category. The experts selecting the winner in the "Company of the Year" category referred only to the financial reports posted on Vladivostok Air official website. Thus there is an evident trend among the public towards objective assessment of companies' performance.
The popularity of the air company top manager — General Director Vladimir Saibel — with Primorye businessmen and the public was a major factor in the victory of Vladivostok Air. Besides at the suggestion of the competition organizers he was also nominated as the "Best Manager of Primorye 2006".
The "Company of the Year 2006" prize took well-deserved place among important awards of Vladivostok Air.
