Vladivostok Air continues to go from strength to strength every year.
Results of operations in 2007 confirm that. For instance, number of passengers carried rose by 20.7 per cent mainly due to an increase in international traffic, which results from the launch of new international routes and higher fight frequency on the existing routes.
Passenger traffic in 2007 is up by 16.6 per cent to almost 2.5 billion passenger kilometers. Cargo turnover increased as well, by 11.3 per cent.
Besides growth in absolute figures there is also an increase in relative data reflecting the airline's improved performance. For instance, a passenger load factor in 2007 rose by 4.35 points to 71.95 per cent. A cargo load factor is up 0.4 points with a 73.45 per cent growth versus 2006.
Overall, a gain in terms of volume is due to higher flight frequency and route network expansion.
Another important factor of the airline development is fleet renewal. Vladivostok Air has been successfully operating Russian jet aircrafts TU-204-300 for three years. There are four of them now, and two more jets are expected in 2008. In February 2007 the first foreign-made airplane, an airbus A-320, arrived in Vladivostok airport; during the first year of its operations it was praised by the company experts and passengers. The airline received two more comfortable jets manufactured by Airbus in January 2008; the forth A-320 is expected to arrive this spring. The airbuses are gradually to replace less efficient TU-154s on medium-distance routes. Vladivostok Air plans to operate the acquired jets mainly to promising international destinations as well as from Moscow to central Russia and Europe.
Among last year's major achievements Vladimir Saibel, Vladivostok Air General Director, particularly emphasized commencement of the airline's operation of the foreign-made aircrafts as well as extensive preparations which will result in launching the Far-Eastern airline's new routes to Europe (from Moscow to Frankfurt-Hahn) and America (Vladivostok Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky Anchorage Seattle).
The airline continues to develop while implementing its plans and making constant efforts to improve quality of passenger service.
