Vladivostok Air opened a new regular international flight Vladivostok — Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky — Anchorage.
Flight opening ceremony was held on July 7th in Anchorage Airport in the presence of local government authorities, mass media and Vladivostok Air USA representative office staff. After the traditional red tape cutting procedure in front of the ladder the airplane took-off bound for Kamchatka.
On July 8th Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky Airport welcomed the first Vladivostok Air plane from Anchorage. Tu-154 of Primorye airlines will connect the two continental coasts on summer schedule. The flights will be performed on Mondays from July 7th till September 15, and twice on Thursdays (July 17th and August 14th). Total number of the flights on summer schedule is 13.
Tariff for the return air tickets from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky to Anchorage is 29700 ruble* up. Transfer flight Vladivostok — Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky — Anchorage and back will cost 40000 rubles* up.
It is the only flight between the USA and Russian Far East. Aeroflot and Magadan Airlines once attempted to establish regular air communication, but for some years none of the airlines performed the flight. Direct regular air communication between the United States and Asia Pacific Rim countries is first of all important for tourism development and generally for Far East business community. Direct flight to Anchorage will offer comfortable conditions for the US students and a solution for passengers of cruise liners calling Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky port.
* Charges are not included in the quoted fares.
