The global financial crisis is known to have affected every industry including civil aviation. In the view of recent developments airlines are trying to optimize the existing business management techniques as far as possible in order to achieve positive economic outcome to be able to go any further and offer their passengers different tariffs at competitive prices. That is why Vladivostok Air in cooperation with SITA implements a new automated flight profitability management system called STRATEGY. The system is used to balance the interests of both the airline through the improved seat occupation and increased flight profitability, and passengers, who will be able to choose different tariffs depending on the time of their scheduled trips.

With the growth of production volumes, number of flights and passengers, the airline realized the need for implementation of the program solution. According to the experts, revenue increase can be 3% to 9% of proceeds, even with flat transportation volumes.

Air Transportation Sales Service Manager Zakhar Khudenko explained that the system uses complicated mathematical models for calculation combined with several forecasting techniques to generate the most effective pattern of seat distribution in different tariffs. Implementation of the automated system will give some fundamental advantages over the previously used management tools. The use of revenue management system will provide the airline with effective passenger flow distribution along the whole route network.

Passengers will get benefits with their tickets either. The price quotation of the airline becomes more flexible and capable of satisfying the demand for transportation from both passengers planning their trips in advance and those who face the need to make an unexpected flight. They will be offered different tariffs depending on the season and flight distance. For instance, fare for Vladivostok — Moscow — Vladivostok flight will be 26,300 rubles on February 15 and 17,940 rubles on February 18, all taxes and duties included. If a passenger is planning a trip on the route for summer (June), the return ticket will cost him 14,880 rubles today.

For its summer season 2009 Moscow flights the airline plans to operate wide-bodied A-330 with 327 passenger seats layout. If you care about your tickets now, you can reduce the cost of your summer trip considerably.

Our regular customers will also benefit from the innovation as premium points will be given to LEADER program members for the flights. A required number of points will entitle the participants to a certain discount.
